Visiting Professor to the University of Leeds

Founder, and Managing Director of Lawrence Lowe Associates, Lawrence gained his experience in a highly successful career with GEC Telecommunications Ltd, Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies. (Agilent Technologies is a wholly independent spin-off from Hewlett-Packard.) In HP and Agilent he has held positions of R&D Director for wireless test products in the UK, Director of a communications software development centre in Beijing and Strategic Planning Director for Agilent’s telecoms test market in China. He has substantial experience of initiating and driving new product-development units, transferring R&D projects from the US to the UK, US and UK to China, and business-development programmes in the UK and in China. Recognised as a creative team-player with the initiative and ability to take the long-term and broad business views and apply them in harmony with short-term business needs. Lawrence is an experienced international communicator with a proven track record of working and negotiating across diverse cultures. Significant experience as company diplomat, representing the company’s interests at the most senior government, trade organisation and customer levels. Lawrence was Executive Director of the United Kingdom Telecommunications Academy from 2001 until 2006, a trade-promotion body working with developing nations around the world.

Lawrence is a Member of the Steering Council for the China Britain Business Council (CBBC) in Scotland, a Member of the CBBC's Communications Technology Forum and he regularly presents cultural awareness training for companies working with The People's Republic of China. Lawrence is also a Visiting Professor in Marketing for the Engineering Faculty of the University of Leeds.
